Fear shows you what matters.

Five things sit side by side. Fear's arrow lights up only one of them, and that one is labelled "what matters".what mattersfear
It is a pointer, not a verdict. Nothing frightening attaches to a thing you don't care about losing.

Anger shows you where a boundary was crossed.

A bordered area marked "what's yours". Something comes in from outside and the flare marking anger sits exactly on the line it crossed.what's yoursthe linewhat happenedanger
It fires at the edge, not at the person. Read the location before you read the volume.

Anxiety means your mind is living in the future.

Two lanes over the same timeline. The body sits on "now" while the mind sits far out on "future", with a stretched tether between them.mindbodypastnowfuture
The gap is the whole feeling. Nothing is wrong where you are standing; you are simply not standing there.

Motivation fades, habits change your life.

Two lines over time. Motivation starts at its peak and decays to the baseline. Habits start at nothing and accumulate upward.motivationhabitstime
One is highest on day one and spends itself. The other is almost nothing on day one and keeps the receipts.

Your past is a chapter, it's not your whole story.

A row of seven equal chapters bracketed as "your story". One of them, near the start, is filled in and labelled "your past".your storyyour past
It is fixed, it is yours, and it is one of them. Re-reading it does not make it longer.

Triggers show you what still needs healing.

A ring that has closed everywhere except one gap. Pressure on the closed wall glances off; the one that lands goes straight into the gap.healedno reactiontrigger
The same pressure lands on both. Only one spot reports back, which is how you find out where the gap still is.

Control is an illusion.

One small solid dot of what is yours, sitting inside a far larger dashed circle crowded with everything that is not.not yoursyoursyours — your next action, your response, your habitsnot yours — outcomes, timing, other people
The illusion isn't that you have none. It's the size you quietly assume the inner circle is.

Your thoughts shape you, your habits build you, and your choices define you.

Thoughts feed habits, habits feed choices, and choices arrive at you. Under each stage: shapes you, builds you, defines you.thoughtshabitschoicesshape youbuild youdefine youyou
Each stage only ever hands its result to the next one. The last box is the only one anybody else can see.
