This site is run by one person. Nothing here is sold, rented, or handed to an advertising network, and there is no tracking pixel on any page. What follows is the whole of what is collected and why.
The WhatsApp assistant
Replies to the WhatsApp number linked from this site are assisted: an automated system drafts and sends them in my voice, using my published writing, and passes anything that needs me — work, invitations, anything it cannot answer — straight to my own phone. I read what is sent in my name. Ask me directly whether you are talking to a person and you will get a straight answer.
What is stored
- Your WhatsApp number, and the profile name WhatsApp shows.
- The messages in the conversation, both directions.
- Which page or link you arrived from, so the assistant knows whether you were reading an essay or looking at the books list.
- Whether the conversation was passed to me, and a short note saying why.
Why
To answer you, to keep the thread of a conversation across messages, and so that I can read what was said in my name. Messages are not used to train any model.
Who sees it
Me. The message you send is passed to a large language model provider to compose a reply — currently Anthropic — and to Meta, who operate WhatsApp and carry every message either way. Nobody else. There is no support team.
Stopping
Reply STOP at any time. Nothing further will be sent to you, by the assistant or by me. Reply START to undo it.
The rest of the site
If you subscribe
Your email address, and which page you subscribed from. Used to send writing, and nothing else. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works.
If you comment
The name you type and what you write, both shown publicly. An email address if you give one, which is not shown and is only there so I can reply.
Reading
Views and reactions are counted per article, not per person. There is no analytics script, no advertising cookie, and no profile of you being assembled anywhere.
Cookies
One, for me: a session cookie set only when I sign in to the admin area. Your theme preference is stored in your own browser and never leaves it.
How long anything is kept
Conversations and comments are kept while they are useful and deleted on request. Subscriber records are deleted when you unsubscribe. Nothing is kept because it might be worth something later.
Asking for your data, or its deletion
Email hello@adeolutimothy.com and say what you want. You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. I will do it, and I will not ask you why.
Changes
If this changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
